Thruxton Circuit

The Thruxton circuit is one of the UK’s most well known racing tracks. Thruxton started life in 1941 as an airfield for the 2nd World War, by the 1960’s it was given a facelift and the Thruxton race circuit was born.

Thruxton hosts a different motorsports and leisure activities. Due to a licensing restriction they are only allowed to host 12 days of Motorsport per calendar year. The rest of the year the track is used privately to provide petrol heads with driving experiences in high performance supercars.

Thruxton hosts the UKs British Superbike Championship over a three day period. Many thousands of fans, spectators and race goers attend, providing Thruxton and BARC (its owners) with a good source of income.

Other events hosted at Thruxton include, TOCA British Car Touring Championships, British Formula 3 Racing, British GT and the new Dunlop Great and British Festival.

Thruxton also provides the settings for a number of amatuer race meetings, including the “Thruxton Classic”, which provides heats for Classic Touring Cars, Classic Formula Ford 1600 and Formula Ford 2000

Thruxton has the longest lap course in the UK, measuring out at 2.4 miles. Thruxton has 34 spaces on the starters grid, so whether it be cars, bikes, trucks or just for fun, Thruxton provides a great setting for all things Motorsport.
